japanese snacks, a tokyo earthquake, and the bar where lost in translation was shot

A friend of mine came over spontaneously with the snacks she bought for me in Japan.

And somehow looking at those snacks makes me genuinely happy.

Because they remind me of my trip to Japan back in 2009 or 2010. I was visiting a former friend there who was near Tokyo for a few months for an internship.

I didn't travel much there but I stayed in Tokyo and Kyoto and experienced a strong earthquake in Tokyo.

I went to the Hyatt bar in Shinjuku where the movie "lost in translation" was shot. I went there shortly after the earthquake!

I was there in the middle of summer and the heat was extreme.

I loved Japan and I'd love to travel to Japan again at a certain point.
