joyful objects is hibernating — but very much alive

Alright, about a week ago I announced that I am on a Summer break and here comes the next big announcement:

The amazing Joyful Objects shop is put into hibernation mode. Now you might wonder why? And let me be frank with you.

Here are the reasons:

  1. my burnout. I have to heal my nervous system first. Every new major crash led me to this conclusion
  2. finances: I currently can't pay for Shopify to have the shop running while it's not making sales yet, ManyChat (the funny bot on Instagram to bring people to my email list), Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (yes, I need those to create amazing products - I tried the free Affinity alternative but it just doesn't do the trick for sharp lettering vectorizing and I only wanna sell the best quality).
  3. I simply can't pay for all those subscriptions now without making daily sales.
  4. so I decided to keep the shop up but without the option to buy from me now - but in order to let Google do the indexing, to be able to continue blogging and to get back to building amazing products once I'm feeling better and can afford Adobe again
  5. also this gives me now energy and space to focus on Instagram marketing. I wanna grow an audience first and then I will have people who are looking forward to my products
  6. also I am working on something else right now - but I won't share anything until I am done and it's online
  7. and the Joyful Object is my heart project: it saved me in the worst time, setting it up and creating all those products was extremely therapeutic for me. Also it is my personal reminder to never stop creating illustrations, typography design, lettering and collage art again - it's my reminder that I'm really good at design, copywriting and storytelling and even if this shop won't pay the bills yet it's my personal reminder of all my talents and skills that got buried all the time while I was shrinking myself into jobs that were below my skillset
  8. the shop, newsletter, blog and instagram all stay - only buying totes and posters right now isn't possible.

Thank you so much for reading and following along!

With love.
