taking a summer break

taking a summer break

So I'm on a summer break. About 2-3 weeks ago I had a major crash - emotionally and physically. Hormones and bureaucracy had caused it. I felt desperate. Depressed. Anxiety and panic attacks while driving kept coming back. And I realized that I have to change something. That I finally have to accept that I need to rest in order to heal my nervous system.

Yes, I had known before that I have been burned out for years. But still, within a super short time I set up this shop, created more than 260 products, on some days I created around 25 products, on other days I was working 12 hours on my shop and content creation - with a major burnout.

So in July I totally crashed once again. And I realized, I really need to take a break now. Not just a bit. A complete break. No more crazy product creation all the time. I will get back to it once I feel better. And there's no rush since I have more than 200 products up already. I set up all the systems for the shop - including Instagram marketing for list growth with ManyChat, Google Services. Yes even the techie stuff with DNS records and so on, I did it all myself.

But I will still create silly instagram reels. Because I realized I have fun doing that. In a Vlog style. The mediterranean babushka is just documenting her life in reel form now. I never thought I'd ever enjoy motion graphics again - yes I studied media design and film making was part of it and I was always interested in documentary filmmaking and it seems this interest is slowly coming back to me now - all thanks to instagram. I doubt I'll produce high-brow political documentary films soon - of course I could - but not now.

For now the goal is to heal my nervous system in order to be able to conquer daily life again without anxiety, depression, panic attacks, panic attacks and anxiety while driving or being at crowded places - yes all of this had been very bad in the past few years. This burnout probably goes back to 2020 or so but i just ignored it in the past and kept on doing what obviously made me sick until I completely crashed.

But now I learned my lesson. I now rest. I now take a summer break. No products right now. I will get back to creating them once I feel better and less exhausted and anxious.

I now focus on learning breathing techniques - yes they do wonders for your wellbeing, eating well, getting good sleep at night. And basically that's it for now. I have to slow down in order to heal.

So here I am, officially announcing my Summer break. You can keep me accountable for it now. Because I said it out loud. Right here.

With love.
