The Finanzamt wants its quarterly advance. The GKV wants its monthly contribution. The Künstlersozialkasse wants documentation. The pension system wants to know if you are aware that you are not contributing enough to your pension. You are aware. You are aware of nothing else. You think about it at 3am while your sourdough starter rises on the counter because at least something in your life is growing without sending you an invoice about it.

Freelancing from hell is not about difficult clients. It is about a system that calls itself a social market economy and then treats every self-employed person as a personal ATM. It is about paying taxes on income you haven't received yet. It is about the specific fury of building something from nothing while the state takes a percentage of the nothing before it becomes something.
