This one is crucial for building up your self-confidence and self-esteem. Sticking to the goals you set up for yourself. And they don't need to be huge. The smallest thing you are following through after setting the intention shows your nervous system that you can trust yourself. That you show up for yourself. And that matters a lot more than you might have ever considered!
Also it helps to form good habits. And good habits usually result in that your system ends up running on autopilot and you don't even think about it anymore. Like in the morning brushing your teeth. You do it without even wasting one thought about it, right?
My tasks to follow through last week were tiny ones - but i followed through so I am super proud of myself.
1.) ordering acrylic markers in order to get back to illustrating and painting. In the past I mainly illustrated in Adobe Illustrator but I decided I want to get back to all things analog again so of course the next logical step was to also start drawing and painting again old school on paper.
2.) buying a subscription for a ballet app that I have been keeping an eye on for about 2-3 years now ever since YouTube started showing me the ads back then. So, they had a special Winter offer and I bought a subscription for a whole year. I did my first short training and it felt so good and soothing - bringing back all the memories of my ballet classes as a kid and later on in my 20ies.
And now my follow-through-task is to gently do ballet at home regularly and the same goes for illustrating in my sketchbook with new markers - but that illustrating part starts once I finished rearranging my home and furniture so I have a designated place for illustrating as I now have for my ballet workouts.
So be kind to yourself. Set small goals and then follow through. Because you are worth it!
