my anti-inflammatory lifestyle
So lately I have changed my way of eating a bit in order to reduce inflammation. I have some massive dental work coming up and with an inflamed body things get difficult. I did not even plan on doing a temporary anti-inflammatory lifestyle. It just kind of happened. And now you might wonder what that means for me? Everyone has different approaches and this here is mine. Basically I wanna focus on eating a mainly pro-metabolic Ray Peat inspired diet which is what I have been doing anyways. So for... dark chocolate is my sleep drug
Nothing makes you feel as good as a good night of deep sleep, right? But often we want to sleep but that deep sleep doesn't want us it seems πŸ€·β™€οΈπŸ˜³ And finally I figured out a very effective and affordable way for better sleep - and it is so simple that you wont't believe it! 2 - 4 pieces of dark chocolate are my sleep cure! Eaten in the evening and I sleep for hours without ever waking up. Must be the magnesium calming down my nervous system and that... Read more...
how a broken mouse forced me to slow down
Currently I'm pouring all my energy into creating my amazing online-shop with fun products like posters, tote bags and hoodies to begin with. It's a print on demand shop which means that once a customer orders the order goes to the closest printer nearby who's part of the network and then the product gets printed and shipped to the customer right away. Which is great for me because I can solely focus on the design part without having to worry about logistics and shipping. So, I have been working on... Read more...
what decluttering really is about
I gotta admit, as a kid and teenager I was quite messy. And later on I dove deep into the work of Marie Kondo and then I also learned that this is not exactly a surprise since most of us growing up never really learn how to really tidy up and clean. Yes, it's a grown-up skill everyone expects you to have but obviously it's one that is rarely taught at home or at school. I always loved tidy and clean spaces and always felt overwhelmed by chaos but still... Read more...
what saying no really means
Who would've thought that the tiny word 'no' often is the hardest one to use whenever something just feels off. It took me a long time to finally learn that saying no is not just good for my wellbeing, that it is my right to say no to whatever feels off and that saying no is actually really powerful. Because whenever you say not to something that doesn't feel right, you actually say 'yes' to yourself and with that you don't overstep your own boundaries anymore. In the past I... Read more...
how to calm a busy mind
Maybe you're like me and can relate to a mind that sometimes seems to go absolutely nutters! You just can't stop thinking and overthinking and in the worst case your brain comes up with horror scenarios that are very unlikely to ever happen if we're being honest. Well, I've been dealing with a super busy and hypervigilant mind and nervous system the majority of my life now. And good news is there are a few simple things that usually help to calm down. hello spring cleaning 🧹🧼🫧
Cleaning is a super powerful act - and there's a reason why we get so fond of cleaning when a new season starts. Like now Spring! You might wonder why, right? Because now we let go of all the literal dust of the past. Of the cold, of Winter...and literally open our space for something new. Fresh air, fresh flowers, sunshine! And that is a powerful act! I find it comparable to taking a shower after a bad day. You literally wash everything off that has been weighing you down... Read more...
trying to stay sane while everything seems so complicated
If you've been following along for sometime, you might remember that I've been dealing with tons of stress in several different areas in life. Health issues, a major burnout, dealing with awful bureaucracy, my financial existence and income got destroyed so I'm putting all my energy into creating a new income stream.... Needless to say that this can feel incredibly overwhelming and draining. As soon as i get back on my feet again, something else happens that I have to react to and I feel like often I step back... is it spring, yet?!
If you're like me then you exactly know the feeling after a long Winter once the world seems to wake up again after darkness and cold. Flowers on the streets start blossoming, the birds start chirping in the morning and there's a lot more light and sunshine. And for me it is such a magical time of the year since I really can't stand the cold and darkness. saying no to further institutional gaslighting
I've been dealing with a lot for someone trying to recover from a massive burnout that has been going on for years. Health issues, financial burdens all while trying to create new businesses and income streams. A government treating me like their personal ATM doesn't really help here - in fact, this has been a big contributor to my years of burnout. Unfortunately, as someone not working as an employee you're seen in this country as an infinite source of money going straight to the government it seems. So while... Read more...
building my online-shop πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»πŸ›’
Not everything is bad about a burnout for being honest. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom as a reminder that your life isn't going into a direction any longer that serves you. And for being honest, I have not just been burnt out since November 2025. That burnout started a lot earlier - years earlier. But only now I finally had the guts to face reality and to to see that I am extremely burnt out. It took a long overdue dentist visit to get it confirmed from someone... Read more...
let's talk about breakfast, friends 🍳
Breakfast - I admit it. This turned into a love-hate-relationship for me. Until I was 14 or so I ate breakfast effortlessly, it was normal part of my daily routine. But all of a sudden I just couldn't stomach breakfast anymore. I suppose that was exactly when all my autoimmune thyroid issues started due to puberty and hormonal changes. And from then on breakfast pretty much became the hardest meal of the day. So hard that I never ate breakfast again for the rest of my school life - and... Read more...
resting is productive πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
I've only realized that I never really took consciously time to rest. Apart maybe from one Sunday occasionally but even those I rarely used for resting. As a freelancer I was always available and when my freelance teaching income got destroyed, I was so desperate that I started working in a low-wage job on weekends and kept on freelance teaching during the week. Oh boy, that wasn't a good decision. Working 7 days a week for very little money just ain't worth it. It's only a major recipe for burnout.... Read more...
why I'm putting my phone into flight mode πŸ“±βœˆοΈ
Yeah smart phones are cool - but being available 24/7?! Is that so cool as well? I'd argue it's not. And I speak from experience here. When I was still working as a freelance language teacher, lots of communication with my students took place on WhatsApp. Needless to say that I was always available. And people-pleasing in order to accommodate the needs of my students. Even if their needs and my needs kinda mismatched. Hey, I had to make money, this was about my financial survival as well... I'm on a babushka cheesecake diet πŸŽ‚
First of all - I don't diet. I don't believe in diets. My philosophy is just to eat proper food. Homemade food. Nourishing food. Food that doesn't come out of a box with a million questionable ingredients. Food that your great-grandparents would have recognized as food... That's the real deal here. And with that my homemade babushka cheesecake falls into the nourishing food category. It's good ingredients - and it's crustless, so there's no extra burden on the digestive system with grains! Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-grains... Read more...
saying you'll do something. and doing it.
This one is crucial for building up your self-confidence and self-esteem. Sticking to the goals you set up for yourself. And they don't need to be huge. The smallest thing you are following through after setting the intention shows your nervous system that you can trust yourself. That you show up for yourself. And that matters a lot more than you might have ever considered! Also it helps to form good habits. And good habits usually result in that your system ends up running on autopilot and you don't even... Read more...
facing my dentist phobia 🦷
Dentist phobia - I'm sure many of you can relate. Even though I realized it's a topic that is not very openly discussed. I've had issues with my teeth ever since I was a kid. And many traumatizing dentist visits as a kid of course only made it worse. I remember being a little child sitting in that dental treatment chair, getting her frontal teeth drilled and filled under extreme pain. Another very traumatizing experience was that dentist who said to my mom when I was a little child that... Read more...

talking about burnout
Sometimes it takes a while to see that you’re burned out and depressed. Things that normally wouldn’t bother you are triggering you. Daily tasks feel overwhelming. You have no energy. Sleeping through the night is difficult. Appetite?! Gone. Eating is a struggle. Things that normally bring you joy…not at this point. Socializing?! Absolutely no desire! Shoulders, neck and back are hard like a rock. Frequent headaches. Leaving the house costs too much energy. By 1 pm you feel like you’re done with the day and all you want is rest... Read more...
my personal mr. big shit show story
I wonder if most of us have or had this 'Mr. Big' kind of person in our lives. I most certainly did. The guy blowing hot and cold. That on and off thing going on for years. I broke up with LinkedIn
Or maybe I am getting a bit too dramatic here. Maybe not. Truth is I've been on LinkedIn since 2010 but in the past I would only log in once a month or so. But then last year I figured out that LinkedIn now is a Social Media platform. And that people are posting there pics of their pets, food, family, memes - and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean how should people know you are now offering amazing services / products if you're not visible... Read more...
sometimes I feel so behind in life πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜³
Well, we all know the phrase that comparison is the theft of joy. But once in a while we all fall into the comparison trap, right? On days when struggling with bad moods, self-doubt, financial struggles...then it's pretty easy to fall into that damn comparison trap. Thinking that everyone else around us is having the easier or more fun life. That no one is struggling as. much as we do and so on... Truth is those are just subjective feelings. It is never the truth. Also, we only see how... Read more...
Blogging in 2026
Well, well, well...now since I started a blog here on my website, I realized that blogging seems to be a lot harder these days than back in 2017 when I wrote my first blog. I blame social media platforms for that. Even when I started, most well-known bloggers at that time already seemed to transfer their content creation more or less to social media platforms. Not exactly in 2017 yet but I could see many of them shifting to publishing their content more on instagram than on their own blog.... Read more...
no is sexy. I said what I said
you ever caught yourself saying yes when your gut actually told you to say 'hell noooo'?! Then hear me out! I'm with you! And yes, I'm very familiar with the disease to please. But hey, let's face reality: most people are never pleased anyways It was pretty mind-boggling to me whenever I finally understood that saying no does wonders - especially when it means saying no to something you clearly don't want. You have every fucking right to say no to things you don't want. Don't wanna go to that... Read more...
why you should turn off notifications πŸ“±

Same goes for music - no more of carrying around a mp3-player with you. Or now grasp and let that sink in: a walk-man! Oh, the super... Read more...
writing is self-coaching
I have always loved writing - but sadly I had times in my life when I took a break from writing. Because I was burnt out, because I did not feel like doing it...well that kind of jazz. I'm sure you're familiar with it as well if you've ever been in the world of blogging and content creation. Thankfully I got back to writing this year. And since May 2025 I even made writing a daily practice - because I started posting on LinkedIn every fucking day. And also because... Read more...
what being ghosted says about you πŸ‘»
You've ever been ghosted? People who ghost you aren’t your kind of people. I got ghosted by men I dated, by clients and by people I considered my friends. Ghosting seems to be a common thing by now. I don’t take it personally anymore. It says a lot about their issues but nothing about me at all. Don’t be sad whenever someone else is ghosting you. It's all about them - and not about you at all! They just weren’t the right fit for you. Once they leave, they give... Read more...
the truest form of self-love
and nooo - it ain't that bubbly bath with candle light and a glass of wine like Hollywood movies are framing it! Also the purest form of self-love doesn't translate into going to a super fancy restaurant. Yes, that's fun but that's not what I mean here! Now I'm gonna spill the beans what I'm talking about here! The truest form of self-love is self-discipline! And yes, many people aren't aware of that. When they hear the term self-love they think about fancy yoga sessions, healthy poke bowls and bubbly... how to get stuff done in the AM hours
I'm sure you know the feeling of overwhelm. Sometimes getting stuff done seems a bit hard, right? But but but... It can get a whole lot easier through forming new habits and creating systems. Because honestly, most of us run on autopilot anyways. Do something for 40 days, form a new habit and you get stuff done on autopilot without even wasting one thought about getting stuff done or not. It really works, I promise. Start with one thing at a time and once this new habit is incorporated in... Read more...
the power of inner peace
Yes, inner peace doesn't sound as buzz-wordy as for example that wellness bubble bath with a glass of wine - but IMHO inner peace is the ultimate wellness hack. With a calm mind - which I equate to inner peace - life is just a whole lot easier, am I right? I believe the things giving us inner peace might be a different story for each one of us but some things should work for pretty much everyone. Just to name a few: 1.) a night of good sleep 2.)... sourdough baking means problem solving
if you've known me for a while, you know that I am a tiny bit obsessed with baking sourdough bread. When I started I was all in for round shaped artisan loafs. But since I'm that kind of girl who loves sandwiches, I switched to baking sourdough sandwich loafs instead. Also, those are a bit less labor intensive. Unfortunately colder weather doesn't help the natural yeast grow when setting up a brand new "sourdough starter baby". So my creativity and ability to solve problems stepped in! Life hack πŸ₯³ My... why getting rich is a super awesome goal
Hey friend, money, money, money - it's a rich man's world! Ha, now we're talking, right?! I'm sure most of us have noticed that we don't exactly live in great times economically speaking. There's inflation and the job market is pretty cooked according to what I heard from people trying to find work. And money is still pretty much a no-no topic. In German there even is a proverb that translates into 'money you have, you don't talk about it'πŸ€·β™€οΈπŸ˜³ Well, life is a whole lot easier when you have... Read more...
the habit that clears my head (and heart)
I believe no other habit so far has had such an amazing impact on my wellbeing like daily journaling. And I don't talk about the old-school journaling style here on paper. Pro-metabolic Lifestyle / Ray Peat

the art of minimalism

when you're sad, just bake/shake it off
Hey friend, if you're feeling sad, then do something that involves your hands - or your body. Therefore I am saying here to bake / shake it off! Often we feel miserable because of being kinda sedated. And that's where baking / shaking it off steps in. When I spent a few months in Argentina, I was living with my dear friend Leticia. I don't like living with people normally but we had the most fun ever. One night she cooked and I cleaned the dishes, the other night I... Read more...

Is blogging dead?!
I started blogging in 2017 and probably at that time blogs were not nearly as big anymore as in the past but nevertheless I blogged there for many years - then by the end of 2021 I moved all my blog articles to Substack since every cool kid was then on Substack and in April this year in 2025 I finally retired that blog that started on Squarespace. It is still on Substack but it is private and I am not publishing there anymore. Instead I started writing my newsletter... Read more...
